What is Restorative Dental Care?

Any procedure with the goal of restoring your smile's normal function and appearance is classified as restorative dental care.

By repairing structural issues such as missing or damaged teeth, our dentist can help restore your smile - and your oral health.

Depending on your issue, our dentists at Dr. Sam Lee's clinic will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.

Dental Crowns

We can use crowns to cover dental implants, prevent a cracked tooth from worsening or attach bridges. These porcelain caps, which are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance, can also help return a stained or discoloured tooth to its natural appearance.

Dental Bridges

These custom-made, natural-looking tooth replacements are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants, replacing a section of missing teeth. Dental bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth, in addition to the bite between upper and lower teeth.

Dental Fillings

Composite (tooth-coloured) fillings are used to repair a cavity or damage to a tooth such as a crack. These fillings are able to withstand moderate pressure from the continual stress of chewing. They can be used on both front and back teeth.

Inlays & Onlays

If damage is too extensive for a standard dental filling, these tooth-coloured porcelain fillings are used to repair cavities. Custom-made in a dental lab, then permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.

Periodontal (Gum) Therapy

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues of the mouth, including the gums, gingiva, alveolar bone, cementum, and periodontal ligament. If the disease is caught in the early stages, preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of the disease.

Root Canals

A root canal is a procedure where your dentist removes diseased blood vessels, nerves and tissues from the interior of a tooth. By removing the decay and bacteria, your dentist can help halt the spread of infection and prevent the need for an extraction.

Amalgam-Free

With restorative dentistry, we can repair your natural teeth and often return full oral function and aesthetic harmony. With our amalgam-free and mercury-free dentistry in Orleans, we can offer a variety of services from simple fillings or crowns to complex root canal therapy and tooth replacement implants. No matter which stage of restorative dental care your teeth need, we can help you find the right solution.
